Sapnon ka aakar

baitha tha kabhi, taaron ke neeche,
soch raha tha, lamhon ke kitne prakar,
kitni saari yaadein, kitne saare kaam,
itne saare sapne, kaise karun saakar

durr kahin brahmand mein, kisi aur prithvi par,
tim-timate honge sapne, jaise atma ke alankar,
aaj mein yahan hun, kal mei wahan hun,
bheegi si hai hawa, hai jane kis sparsh ka intezaar

zindagi ka maqsad, upparwale ki disha,
phir kahin se aayi, ek anhoni si pukar,
muskarahaton ko jeet, ho ja har khushi pe nishar,
apni hi kalam se bana, tere sapnon ka aakar...

KutKut - the crazy little squirrel

First sun-light of the day. The rays fell like droplets of warmth on him. Curled up behind the bushes, hiding the acorns and paper he had collected, winked up an eye.

"Ah, I just love the twittering of the birds in the morning...there goes tweety the sparrow to get grub, Meow the cat is already on her morning scouts, and Bobby the dog is still sleeping!".

Unknown to him, I stood watching him from my house. He sprang up, stretched his silken body and brushed away his dirt with his bushy tail. Up and away he bounced, from the pavement to the bushes and back.

On the trees, he flies from one branch to another. His head bobs up and down, sideways and hither and thither. "Got to find those delicious nuts, now where could they just be."

Suddenly he springs up on the porch of our patio. Sniffing along the edge, nibbling away at the small pots, and bumping off a few snails, he looked at me. And stood still.

We both saw each other for a while. "Big human, wonder if he wants to drive me out!".

Then he continued dancing around in the patio. Crazy squirrel I thought. Wonder if he will be around, when you grow up. Kutkut - the crazy little squirrel.

First Love

My dear little one, I want to welcome you with the feeling of first love. Love of a person for the other, love of a father for his daughter, love of a bashful young boy for the beautiful girl in school, love of the sparrow feeding her loved little chicks...

The one which most touches the soul is the first pangs of love, the first feeling, the first realization of a sense of attachment, the thought that you cannot let go. For a moment, which may stretch to endless sleepless nights, that person is all that occupies your thoughts, your dreams, your yearnings.

Life is limited, it is given as a gift, to find this feeling as many times as over. The lovers come and go, but my heart searches on for this feeling in different ways.

For you, it is special. I can have no other feeling which would relate to me the way you do. The second I thought that my life is all there is, it shall come once, I stopped running after all the fleeting things in the world.

Some may pray God, some may fear judgment, some may dictate rules. I just wish to see you in my arms, playing and smiling. Your and your mummy's happiness is my God. If I answer well to you both, I have answered my God. I cherish no fruit greater than the time I will spend with you.

There is so much in this world I want to share with you. I want to sit with you and see the shooting stars. I want to listen to your stories. I want to tell you stories. I want to tell you how wonderful Nature is, how one can forget all his worldly thoughts in the midst of beautiful Nature.

aasman mei honge taare bahot,
mera toh ek hi taara hai,
duniya mei honge khuda bahot,
mera toh ek hi khuda hai,
meri duniya mein kab aaoge, mere nanhe farishte...
